If you lived in Sydney you might warn tourists about the cost of living (consistently one of the highest in the world). Is there anything about Brisbane visitors need to know? Have you noticed they have false impressions about the weather, lifestyle or anything else?

Well I could warn people that in the middle of winter you will still want to wear a t-shirt and shorts.

The biggest hassle for weather though is spring, starting from the new year for three to four months, it can rain on almost any day. Usually these are quick storms that come and go.

Perhaps that while the city does have beaches, the islands mean that they're so protected that they're not the surf beaches everyone associates Australia with.
Wear a hat and sunscreen - the sun is fierce especially around mid-day.
