On a sweltering hot summer’s day children like nothing better than to get into their bathers and head down to the local pool. Over the last few years water parks have also been popping up around the country (playgrounds which include fountains, water spouts and shallow pools where kids can play), and Brisbane is no exception.
In your opinion where are Brisbane’s best water parks? What facilities to they provide? Are they easily accessible by public transport, and are they free of charge?
The Splashpad and Waterslide at Newmarket Pool are really great - you pay the pool entry fee and $2 for unlimited rides on the slide. Also, the free waterpark at South Bank is fun but gets really busy over summer or on a hot day.
In the North Side Chermside Swimming Pool provides a great option. Several different types of slides and other activities pack the place during the school holidays and there is a wonderful wading pool open all year round for youngsters and the lap pool is a great option.
